CHALLENGE: How do you design a slave pallet that can hold up to 3600 LB. and support three different size Titanium ingots, six ingots to the load, with a maximum of 1/4 inch deflection, and an ingot temperature of 452 degrees?
ANSWER: Western White Oak slave pallet with face grain in the support direction. Thickness 1- 1/2 inches with bull nose edges and rounded corners with Radio Frequency Identification (R.F.I.D.) cutout. Plywood saddle 3-1/2 inches wide with grain in the same (up) position. Saddles are bolted to slave pallet without glue for ease of replacement.
